Sonopulse III Description

          With modern design,  Sonopulse III 1.0 MHz / 3.0 MHz case has been manufactured according to existing standards of construction equipment. The equipment is in accordance with the technical standards NBRIEC 60601-1 NBRIEC NBRIEC 60601-2-5 and 60601-1-2. It has front panel with a slight slope which enables the therapist to easily adjust the device while sitting or standing.

          Essential Performance: Sonopulse III 1.0 MHz / 3.0 MHz has been developed for ultrasound therapy in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and esthetics at a frequency of 1.0 MHz and 3.0 MHz, being applied on  to the inflammatory rheumatic disorders, inflammatory diseases of the peripheral nervous system, traumatic disorders, peripheral circulatory disorders, inflammatory diseases of the skin surface areas, degenerative changes of the skeleton, particularly the spine, contractions, periarthritis, cellulitis, phonophoresis, post surgery, etc.. Besides the possibility of operating at 1.0 MHz and 3.0 MHz, the device allows the choice of ultrasound emission mode  in CONTINUOUS  or PULSED. There are six kinds of pulse:

Pulse repetition frequency of 100 Hz: –

Duty factor – 50%: 0N duration of 5.0 ms and pause time 0FF pulse of 5.0 ms (half);

Duty Factor – 20%: 0N duration of 2.0 ms and pause time 0FF pulse of 8.0 ms (fifth).

Pulse repetition frequency of 48 Hz: –

Duty Factor – 50%: 0N duration of 10.5 ms and pause time 0FF pulse of 10.5 ms (1 / 2);

Duty Factor – 20%: 0N duration of 4 ms and pause time 0FF pulse of 17 ms (fifth).

Pulse repetition frequency of 16 Hz: –

Duty Factor – 50%: 0N duration of 31 ms and pause time 0FF pulse of 31 ms (1 / 2);

Duty Factor – 20%: 0N duration of 12 ms and pause time 0FF pulse of 50 ms (fifth).

          Within the ultrasound transducer of Sonopulse III 1.0 MHz / 3.0 MHz there is a temperature sensor that will be checking and maintaining constant working temperature of the piezo electric crystal and consequently the aluminum face of the transducer, avoiding the patient that disagreable excessive heat. This sensor is programmed so that the temperature of the aluminum never exceeds 41 ° (degrees centigrade). During treatment, especially when the coupling gel used is not of good quality, the temperature may rise above 41 ° (degrees centigrade). When this happens, Sonopulse III 1.0 MHz / 3.0 MHz stops and  "freezes" the time set on the timer, turning  off the emission of ultrasound. The owner has to continue "passing" the transducer as if nothing happened, because after a few seconds the temperature goes back to normal. The device automatically  returns to the original time scheduled before.

Note: It is common to test the unit by putting  a few drops of water on the aluminum face of the transducer to see the effect of nebulization (cavitation of the water). The means of driving the ultrasound emitted at the moment (drops of water + air) is very precarious. This will cause a rapid temperature increase to over 41 ° (degrees centigrade). The emission of ultrasound will stop avoiding damage to the piezo electric crystal placed inside the transducer.

                  Sonopulse III 1.0 MHz / 3.0 MHz is a single-phase equipment designed to be used in continuous mode of operation, with Class II Type BF applied part of security and protection against electric shock. The equipment is protected against dripping water (classification IPX1). It is not suitable to be  used in presence of inflammable anesthetics. As  far as the limits to electromagnetic disturbance is concerned,  Sonopulse III 1.0 MHz / 3.0 MHz is an electromedical equipment that belongs to Group 1 Class A.
