Neurodyn II Description
NEURODYN II was designed according to existing technical standards for the devepment of medical devices (NBR NBR IEC 60601-1 IEC 60601-1-2 and IEC 60601-2-10 NBR).
Essential Performance: Neurodyn II is an equipment for applying electrical current via electrodes in direct contact with the patient in neuromuscular disorders therapy . It is a neuromuscular transcutaneous stimulator of FES and TENS currents. The technique involves the application of mild electrical stimulation through electrodes placed in the body area affected by pain (TENS), or activate the skeletal muscles and produce movements (FES). This technique is noninvasive, without systemic effects, not addictive and has no side effects. The current intensity required for treatment depends on the patient’s sensitivity. Therefore, treatment should be started with minimum levels of intensity (very low), increasing up carefully to achieve the proper effect to the procedure and according to the patient’s report.
NEURODYN II case has modern design with front panel that enables the therapist to easily adjust the equipment. It is a neuromuscular stimulator transcutaneous of four channels with adjustable independent intensity , which generate TENS and FES currents. It allows the choice of T (pulse duration) of 50 us 500 us and R (repetition frequency of pulses) of 0.5 Hz to 250 Hz .The selection of these parameters (T and R) is made throuch a touching keyboard with the information
shown on the liquid crystal display.
NEURODYN II provides the following types of chains:
1 – TENS: conventional , acupuncture, brief and intense TENS.
2 – VIF TENS: TENS with automatic variation of intensity and frequency.
3 – B TENS: BURST TENS (TENS modulated pulse trains to 2Hz).
4 – S FES: synchronizedFES.
5 – R FES: reciprocal FES.
6 – S VIF FES: synchronized with automatic variation of intensity and frequency FES.
7 – R VIF FES: reciprocal with automatic variation of intensity and frequency FES .
PRODUCT FEATURES
NEURODYN II is an equipment designed for continuous operation mode. It uses technology which ensures the accuracy of the values shown. The accuracy of this operation is in accordance with the provisions of particular standard for safety equipment for neuromuscular stimulation – NBR IEC 60601-2-10, Clause 50 / subclauses 50.1 and 50.2. The amplitude control continuously monitors the output current intensity from the minimum to the maximum and minimum value does not exceed 2% of value at maximum position. The parameters such as waveform output, pulse duration, pulse repetition frequency, amplitude range of output current do not differ by more than 30% mentioned in the following technical description.
The values of the durations of pulses and repetition frequency of pulses described here were measured at 50% of the maximum amplitude of the output.
These parameters are for a load impedance in the range from 820 Ω to 1200 Ω. The effect of load impedance parameters described is very important. If the equipment operates outside the load impedance range specified , there may be inaccuracy in the values of the parameters, as well as modification of the waveforms described here.
Neurodyn II is a single-phase equipment with Class II Type BF applied part of security and protection.
